Frozen Cup

From the Studio · YouTube

Empty your cup to learn. "Frozen Cup" is reggae on the beginner's mind. "Frozen Cup" by Roots in Wisdom is alpine reggae from the Alpine Vibe album — a mountain legend set to a warm riddim, paired with "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Shunryu Suzuki. THE LEGEND You can't pour fresh snowmelt into a cup already frozen full. On the mountain, the one who thinks they know it all is the one the mountain humbles. Empty first; then you can receive. THE BOOK — Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind (Shunryu Suzuki) "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities; in the expert's mind there are few." Approach each moment fresh, empty of assumptions, and you stay open to what the mountain — and life — has to teach. OUR TAKE A spacious, meditative groove about staying open — melt the ego, keep a beginner's mind. GOOD FOR / PRESS PLAY WHEN… Great for: learning, humility, meditation, and starting fresh. PUT IT INTO PRACTICE Approach something familiar as if for the first time. Empty the 'I already know' cup before you listen. Stay curious; there are more possibilities than you think.
