Grow yuh Mind

Add one word — “yet” — and everything changes. Reggae on the growth mindset. “Grow yuh Mind” by Roots in Wisdom is conscious reggae from the Upward album, inspired by Mindset by Carol S. Dweck (2006). It’s a keep-climbing anthem: your abilities aren’t fixed, they grow with effort, so treat every setback as a lesson, not a limit. THE BOOK & THE MESSAGE Mindset by psychologist Carol S. Dweck (2006) introduced the world to the “fixed” versus “growth” mindset: people who believe their abilities can be developed learn more, bounce back faster, and achieve more than those who think talent is set in stone. The song says your mind is a garden you grow — plant effort, water it with practice, and you rise. LIVE IT DAILY — how to use this takeaway every day - When you catch “I can’t do this,” add “…yet.” - Treat a mistake as data, not a verdict — ask “what can I learn here?” - Praise effort and strategy in yourself and others, not just talent. - Take on one thing slightly beyond your comfort zone today.
